Genii Weblog

Civility in critiquing the ideas of others is no vice. Rudeness in defending your own ideas is no virtue.

After ten years in business, with customers all over the world and a thriving business, I decided Genii Software deserved a real logo, so I hired a design firm to work with us to develop an appropriate image based on who we are and what we do.  It was an interesting experience, and I am very pleased with the results.  Here is the official logo, as it will appear in print:

and if you look up above, you will see the variation that I will use for the website and t-shirts, and that sort of item.

So, does this mean anything?  Is it significant?

The answer is probably "Yes" and "No".  Those of you who also visit vowe.net or OpenNTF, or even those who read this blog carefully, will notice that we have started a little, tiny bit of advertising.  Likewise, we will have a pedestal at Lotusphere and may be a bit more visible at trade shows, so that is a bit of a change.

On the other hand, we are not planning on turning into a nameless, faceless bureaucracy.  I'll still answer the phone most of the time.  I still prefer milkshakes to beer.  We will continue to bring out great products that meet or exceed your needs, and provide the best customer service we can.  I'll likely even still ramble on too long in these posts (darn, I'm doing it right now).

But now, we have a logo.  With any luck, you'll get used to it.
