It's all over but the counting

Well, it was a hard battle, but at the end of the day, George Bush clearly made his case with the majority of voters.  Ohio may still be technically up for grabs, but with a fairly sizeable popular vote advantage and a huge turnout to back it up, there will be little appetite for legal battles once the provisional ballots are counted.

I'm disappointed, but the reality about democracy is that people get the person they elect, and both they and those who opposed him just have to live with it.  If there is one bit of justice, it is that Bush will inherit his own mess instead of passing it on.  

In any case, like it or lump it, George Bush appears to have won re-election, and at least nobody can say it was just due to apathy on the part of American voters.  People turned out in droves, and they turned out big for Bush.
