Is there any point to having a Technorati Profile? What do you get from it?

As long as you ping technorati with changes on your blog, you will get additional traffic based on your content. Not necessarily a lot, but traffic.
Hmmm, does this mean we will finally maybe get you to use AIM????

Yup, exactly as Chris says. You have your profile, and you claim your blog. Once you do, you can ping it any time you post, and it will update your info in the system.
You can also post Technorati tags so when someone searches for a particular tag, say "Lotusphere" then any posts you've tagged with Lotusphere will show up in that stream.

Admittedly, Technorati doesn't send me much traffic as a result of the profile... only a couple of hundred hits in the last few months. I find their search engine to be dreadfully slow. But some do use it to find out about blog buzz... and they do this cool ranking thing to show what popular blogs are.
