Stunning number of basic errors left in Open XML spec

It is really incredible to see what a small amount of persistence and effort will reveal.  Rob Weir and others are looking at the OOXML specs and finding lots and lots more issues that were NOT addressed in the Ballot Resolution Meeting (BRM).  See the post How many defects remain in OOXML? but be sure to look through some of the comments, because one of the readers has done even more to point out the many, many errors in the spec.  It is unbelievable to me that ISO cannot somehow stop this travesty, but even if it cannot be stopped procedurally, I hope that the countries involved vote No to this appalling train wreck of a specification.  It will never be implemented as written by anyone, not even Microsoft, and calling it a standard would be an inexcusable on the whole concept of international standards.
