Soliciting ideas for LS2009 Sessions db

Well, we are getting closer to that time of year, so what would you like to see this year?  Dancing spreadsheets?  Carousel support?  iPhone widget magic?  No promises, but I'd be interested to hear what your thoughts (and wish list) are.

As a speaker (maybe), I'd be more apt to respond if I got an email telling me someone had asked a question.

@Andrew - I'd agree that that is a must-have for the interactive part of the sessions db to work. Assuming that I can get a list of e-mail addresses (or get access to someone who has one), and I wanted to ask speakers for permission to send them such alerts, do you think it would be better to have opt-in or opt-out (i.e., if a speaker wants to be notified, they have to let me know they do vs. if a speaker doesn't let me know, they would automatically be notified)? Just curious what your (or anybody else's) opinion is.

Since I will plan to opt in, I believe the list should be opt out, saving me work. Since I am the only one who matters as the rest of you may exist only in my imagination (who can tell? I have only my perceptions of you to know if you truly exist) the answer is clear.

Opt out.

Sorry Ben, I can't join you there. There's something wrong when evil programmers invent macros that make other people's jobs obsolete. There's no consideration for the little guy, especially if he's so small as to be petty. For that reason, I have deliberately remained so in the dark about Lotus that I don't even know how to make Quickr quicker. Don't give me your arguments, as I am not interested in scripting. I will therefore be decidedly not at LS 2009, as a matter of principle.

Whoops! I just noticed your warning that rudeness is no virtue. Now I wish I could take it all back! Darn this blunt (although amazingly insightful) brain of mine!

I'd like to see something newer than the old R5 look. The green induces post-traumatic stress from the early 00's supporting R5. :-p It would also be nice if it could somehow keep track of what I've already added to my calendar so I'd know when I'm looking at the sessions list that I've already got it on my calendar. And maybe a pencil in feature? Obviously I use the calendar integration a lot. :-)

Best practices on adding DOJO into my appz

I think it would be great if people could select the sessions they are interested in then create an iCal export file which can be imported into any Calendar

Gabriella, you can add sessions from Ben's database to your regular Notes calendar, then from your Notes calendar create the ICS file. Removing the trip to the Notes calendar would be a nice feature.

How about a nice calendar interface that supports drag & drop.

You should be able to select a session in a list and see in the calendar all times it scheduled along with your selected sessions. Click on the time you want and it's flagged for you.

Use color to indicate prefernces, 1st choice, 2nd, etc.

The calendar entry should show the room so you know how far you have to go.

Then let me download it to my iTouch (I use a real phone to talk on)

I like Andrew's idea about questions since I will be presenting this year.
