Dear Genii Guy -

What do you do when companies stop hiring Notes developers?

- Scrambling in Sacramento

Dear Scrambling -

When companies stop hiring Notes developers (and certainly not all have), the only response for an ISV like Genii is to make products that don't require developers.  I'm happy to moan and groan over a beer (or milk shake) with you, and I certainly agree that it is not a smart way for companies to get the most out of their Notes infrastructure, but I have no control over those things.  All I can realistically control is the products we sell, so if companies stop hiring Notes developers, we have to make products that don't require Notes developers.  Sorry, and best of luck!

Agreed. Many companies can't justify paying the fat salary that a competent developer deserves.

But those customers are ideal targets for companies that sell ready made products, or keep contractors busy part of the time.

But if they aren't doing any of the above, Then they are just plain wasting a powerful resource, and will get their butts kicked by their competitors.
