Genii Weblog

Civility in critiquing the ideas of others is no vice. Rudeness in defending your own ideas is no virtue.

It is hard to go through IdeaJam and see the status of all nineteen twenty book proposals, especially as they now span multiple pages there, so I have collected them in one place for your convenience. Please vote and/or comment on the proposals.  If one of these inspires another idea, propose another book. It is up to YOU to decide what books are created, and then up to you to support the authors who follow through (although voting on a book does not obligate you, of course):

Visit and vote (early and often)!

If you have already downloaded the Lotusphere 2011 Sessions db, you can simply replicate using the view action.  If not, you can download and then replicate, or I'll get a revised version up later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Happy planning!

It's been about a day and a half since I challenged people to propose books that could be written about Lotus Software. The stats in the title speak for themselves in regards to the enthusiasm and energy the community has, but I encourage people to advocate for their own books.  Patrick Kwinten has blogged in support of his proposal and has 18 votes, and Mike McGarel has blogged in support of his and has 10.  If you believe in your proposal, how about talking people into voting for it?

Top proposals right this minute, but there are others nipping at their heels...

I have called for book proposals, and the Notes developers have shown up, but there is a noticeable lack of admin book proposals.  I would think you folks would be chomping at the bit to offer Locking Down Your Connections Server, or Configuring Quickr Quicker, or Living with LotusLive, or whatever it is that makes you admins tick.  The only admin-oriented proposals I have seen are (I am adding these as people propose them, thus the one by Keith Brooks is the newest):

Maybe you just can't compete with developers in creativity and passion?

I had to get in on the fun and propose my own book.  Come on over and let me know what you think.  And remember when you make your own proposals, it is okay to have fun while learning, and people may be more willing to buy if they think it's a bit cool.

Visit my other post, Many book proposals - visit and vote, to see a full set of the proposed books so far (I think there are now twelve).

We have more than ten proposed books! Please vote and/or comment on the proposals.  If one of these inspires another idea, propose another book. It is up to YOU to decide what books are created (but then it will be up to you to buy some and make the authors feel the smartness of their decision to write the book):
