Kristin Keene sent me a note today saying I could break the news, so, here is the announcement:

NEW! "Lotusphere's SpeedGeeking"

"Here’s a brand-new completely condensed, immersive and rowdy approach to
hearing from some of the best and brightest that Lotusphere’s YellowSpace
2007 has to offer, and learn about the tips, techniques (and sometimes
crazy) ideas that they have been working on. Migrate as a group around the
room from one 5-minute demo to the next, while stopwatches, buzzers and
loud-mouthed emcee’s keep things fast-faced and on track! The result is
‘managed mayhem’ and a good amount of fun.

Held at one time only, Wednesday, January 24, 2006, Grand Harbor South
Ballroom, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club, 5:45pm – 7:00pm.
Don’t be late! Attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis."

I don't know all the speakers/topics, but here are a few, and I'll add to them as I find out more (I know most of the people, but not their topics, yet):

  • Pimp My Notes - Alan Bell
  • Geeks have Layers, too - Ben Langhinrichs
  • Notes/Domino App Performance - Jamie Magee

Add that to your Lotusphere plans!

Wow. 75 minutes of 5 minute demos. You'll be doing your demo -- what -- 15 times in a row? That would be exhausting.

Good luck, guys!

Ben, I notice you have layers on there. If we have time before then, I need to show you the latest thing I'm doing with them in the client. I've basically worked out an app that eliminates the concept of read vs. edit mode on a document. It uses layers to control block-level edits in a totally different way.

It was news to Jamie, who is a few feet from me today that it was announced.

An exclusive list presumably was asked to do it, but then who wants to watch us admin/architect people discuss server consolidations or domain montioring.

I am more scared to have me Paul and Bill in the same room talking
