What American accent do you have? (Best version so far) Midland ("Midland" is not necessarily the same thing as "Midwest") The default, lowest-common-denominator American accent that newscasters try to imitate. Since it's a neutral accent, just because you have a Midland accent doesn't mean you're from the Midland. |

I got Northern accent, which apparantly applies either to where I grew up or where I go to school. I find it interesting that I would have a different accent than you, since you and mom were probably the biggest influences on my accent.

Mine came up Northeastern - what a surprise :-0. Even though I've lived in Boston 26 years now I've managed not to let a Boston accent take hold and totally wipe out my NYC heritage.
