Quick gut check on idea spaces for Genii Jam

Wed 9 Apr 2008, 10:19 AM

by Ben Langhinrichs
Does anybody have an opinion on whether we should use products for idea spaces, so a list such as: CoexEdit, CoexLinks, Midas Rich Text, OpenSesame, New Product Ideas

or should we use functionality for idea spaces, so: Coexistence, Editing, Migration, Programmability, Rendering

or something else entirely.  Any opinions?

i'd say, map your spaces as closely to real things as possible. go with the first list.

embrace reality. hug it tight. ;-)

Go with the products. They are an intuitive starting point.

Hi Ben, what happened to OpenSesame?

The last posts are from 2007 - and I couldn't find anything anywhere on the Web... :(

Discontinued? Renamed? Please give us a hint...

Thanks!

Thomas

I created it, thought long and hard about where my focus should go, then decided not to release it. It's ironic, because I am actually using it right now to update the Lotusphere Sessions database from a .ods file, and I have taken certain parts out and incorporated them into Midas and CoexEdit (things like zipping to an attachment and some of the XML techniques), but I don't have the bandwidth to support it as a commercial product.
