Thanks for the free iFidelity offer for IBM business partners. But how "free" is it actually?

In the BP Order from, you write:

"All licenses except those sold through an OEM agreement require a 25% Maintenance and Upgrades agreement after the first year, to be renewed annually if the license is used past then. The first year of maintenance is included free for IBM Business Partners, but renewals will be as if the license had been purchased at the price listed."

So only the first year is free for business partners? You don't mention this in your blog post above.

Karsten,

The license is free. The first year of maintenance and upgrades is free. The license is a perpetual license, so anybody can keep using it after the first year. That is what we are offering.

Renewals are for support, maintenance and upgrades past the first year. We may decide later to make those free, but that is a decision for later, just as is any decision about how long to extend this offer. At the moment, support, maintenance and free upgrades past the first year would be charged at the usual amount. I should note that for every license ordered so far, that fee would be based on the minimum user fee, which would be 25% of $1400, or $350.
