Down to 91,170th place

There aren't many races where being in ninety-one thousandth place would be good, but for a book, especially a software development book, it isn't too shabby.  I hope that the six copies people have bought through the Virtual Bookstore have helped.

Of course, that doesn't even make Mastering XPages the best selling development book in the Virtual Bookstore, and I hope we can get it lower and show IBM and others that writing books for Lotus Software development is a winning proposition.  While I haven't checked every book, the best selling development books in the Virtual Bookstore appear to be Dojo: The Definitive Guide at #67,368 and Professional JavaScript for Web Developers at #65,536, neither of which is tied to Lotus Software. Wouldn't it be great if the sexy new technology added to the software with millions and millions served (skip that seat count crap) could beat out generic development books?

And you don't even want to know the rank for Beginning SharePoint Designer 2010.  Trust me.  Although I note that it costs less than half what the Mastering XPages book does, which might be worth noting.

Ben,

The other books are rated in subcategories, far better than the "Top Books" general category. Would this book not benefit from being "allocated" one of the specific sub categories?

@Michael - I wondered that myself. I am not sure whether it was not assigned categories or whether they only show up when you get low enough in those categories, but it seems worth pursuing. I'll talk to the folks from IBM Press about that. Thanks!
