Something new for Lotusphere 2012

I mentioned this over the weekend on Google+ (follow me at http://bit.ly/blanghinrichs if you like), but wanted to share it with more of the Lotus community.

I am playing with some very new and exciting features for the Lotusphere 2012 Sessions database. Some will support the database in Notes, but others are there for enhanced mobile support. This is an example of the latter.  I added an agent to the Lotusphere 2011 Sessions db (which is all populated and thus handy for demos). The agent creates an ePub file (most popular eReader format) for all the documents in the db which are tagged with a particular tag, in this case xpages. I then open the file in Adobe Digital Editions, but it could be opened on the iPhone or iPad or Android phone or tablet using any standard eReader software.

Click on the image below to see the one minute demo. Get your ticket to Lotusphere to try the real thing in January.

That's cool, interesting idea and perspective.

Love the ePub...Anything possible for the BlackBerry? Likely not, but I thought I would ask :)

Keith - Glad you like it. There will be more cool stuff coming, esp. with regards to social integration, I expect.

Arif - There will certainly be a BlackBerry version of the sessions db (we do that every year), and supposedly ePub is available on the BlackBerry through the Kindle reader, but I'll be on the lookout for it. I only didn't mention BlackBerry because I don't have one. Fortunately, Tim Davis of the Turtle Partnership does, and he makes the BB version of the sessions db from our data.

A) A neat idea, and;

B) I just appreciate any features that this absolutely FREE gift horse trots in for me.

Not that I'm going to make LS12, sigh. 8-(

Craig - Well, if I can swing it, I'm going to try to find a way to package any presentations where the speakers say OK as EPUB files as well. Then, you could use them even if you don't go (and I hope you'll be able to)
