Civility in critiquing the ideas of others is no vice. Rudeness in defending your own ideas is no virtue.

I have to admit, I am impressed.  Instead of putting a link to our Lotusphere 2008 Sessions db in some sidebar, they put a link right on the Tracks and Sessions page.  Click on the image below to see it on the Lotusphere site.  Very classy!

After a few weeks of cajoling the powers that be for repeat information, we now have a real, fairly complete (but no BOFs yet),  Lotusphere 2008 Sessions DB page.  This is our eighth annual sessions db made available in Journal format that is suitable for synching with your PDA, or for just general browsing.  As you saw last year, there is much more functionality for general browsing, fun and scheduling this year!   Now, I don't know whether IBM is planning on releasing their own database, but I figured I'd better do it again just in case (as they haven't the last 12 years).  Perhaps IBM will put a link to our sessions database again this year on the official Lotusphere page, and maybe even a bit earlier.

This database is free for you to use either as is or with modifications.  If you make interesting changes, or build another tool around it such as a web services or .NET interface or whatever, let me know and I'll provide a link (or just update my db if you like) on the webpage.  Feel free to point anyone to this post or to the page directly.

I am doing a session again this year, BP201 A Jug of Wine, A Spreadsheet and Thee, and they have even given me a big room again (as you would know if you looked in the sessions db).  More soon...

The following are good ideas.  Many people agree, as you can see by the votes.  I even encourage you to head off to IdeaJam and vote for any of them.  But after that, you have a choice.  You can wait for IBM to add these to Notes 8.5 or 9 or 10 or whatever, or you could get our Midas Rich Text LSX and have them all this afternoon.

why is it that 21 is a triumphant march, while 45 is a dirge?  Sigh!

and face it, what else are you going to do Thursday at 10am while you wait for Beat the Developers?

The sessions may not be quite all there (one or two seem to be badly formed) and the people and companies are last year's, and repeats may not be there yet...

Nonetheless, for those who just can't wait another second, the early Pre-Version 0.1 of the Lotusphere Sessions DB is here and ready for you to download.  Given the errors on our site, people have been trying for the past few weeks at the inevitable page anyway, so I might as well make them happy... Lotusphere 2008 Sessions DB Pre-Version 0.1

I will update with exhibitors, times and rooms, etc. when that information is available.  Cheers!

And yes, this means the data is live on the Lotusphere website.  No sneaky stuff for me, no sirree!  (And yes, I beat Ed again)
