While I am very glad Sen. George Allen lost and gave up control of the U.S. Senate to the Democrats, I do feel that his conduct since the election deserves a round of applause. We have had too many elections with recounts and law suits and acrimony, and George Allen showed that he is a class act by stepping aside gracefully rather than put us all through this again, and by stressing that he will work with his successor, Jim Webb, to ensure stability and bipartisanship.
