I am so tired of the endless solicitations from companies who want to show me what to do if I am approached by somebody who wants to buy my company. I have not tried to sell my company. I don't have a lot of interest in selling my company. But guess what, if somebody approaches me to buy my company, I think I can handle it.
Ten million bucks.
We'll go with the Zillow approach. You want to buy my company? Let's save the haggling. Send me a check for ten million dollars, and I'll send you the source code, rights, customer list, etc.
Is it worth more than that? Quite possibly. Do I think anybody will pony up the money and find out? Nope. Would I go along it they did? Sure. Plenty of other stuff I could do with my time.
So, shut up already about M&As and the lot of it. I like running my company. It's weathered everything from the dot com bust to the latest global downturn. It's a good company. I'm very happy with it. It pays for college for the kids, for retirement, for my expensive taste in cheap ebooks. It buys nice dinners when my wife and I want to go out. I think I'll keep it for now.
