Civility in critiquing the ideas of others is no vice. Rudeness in defending your own ideas is no virtue.

After today's Opening General Session at IBM Connect, I thought I'd reprint a poem I wrote a few years ago. Though it was not intended for this back then, today I felt that it could be rededicated to the name Notes, perhaps even Lotus Notes, as viewed by IBM:

More Lysol!

I smell the fragrance of your hair
It lingers on each downward stair.
The smell of you I cannot bear,
So I spray Lysol in the air.

You came to me to say good-bye.
“Our love is dead!” said with a cry.
I raised my fist and let it fly.
I didn’t mean for you to die.

You fell upon the hard cold floor.
I raised my fist to hit once more,
But blood showed on the dress you wore,
And then I saw you breathed no more.

I buried you beneath the ground
Back in the woods to not be found.
The trees stood witness all around
They hid your final resting mound.

But though your body lies at rest
With heavy dirt upon your breast,
The smell of you has me obsessed,
I clean as though a soul possessed.

I smell the fragrance of your hair
It lingers on each downward stair.
The smell of you I cannot bear,
I spray more Lysol in the air.

I am tremendously pleased to see that Mat Newman, Rob Novak, Karl Henry Martinson, Vitor Pereira, Giuseppe Grasso, Andreas Imnitzer and Giulio Campobassi have put their skills and energy together to come up with such an excellent IBM Connect 2014 Sessions database, and of course with Gabriella Davis for hosting the web version. (Okay, I am also delirious with joy at not having to put all that work in anymore.) As one might suspect, it looks and works better than ever.

To quote Mat on instructions:

You can download the IBM Connect 2014 version of the database: download HERE ( <- Right-Click, Download).

Once you have downloaded and unzipped the file, just put the sphere2014.nsf database in your IBM Notes data directory, choose the session you want to attend, and then click "Add to Calendar".  It's that easy.  You can also keep your local replica up to date just by clicking on the "Sync with Server" action, which will connect to the
fabulous Tim and Gabriella Davis's servers at the Turtle Partnership and keep your information up to date.

There are days when a post pops up on Planet Lotus with an intriguing title, or at least an intriguing one for an IBM Notes oriented site. Inevitably, even if the post has made it to the What's Hot list, it isn't really there when I click on it. I always wonder about the ones that get away.

All customers using HTML exports with the new Midas LSX 5.00 after 5.00b should upgrade to 5.00g due to a specific issue where the cleanup process after an HTML export may lead to a crash. No changes are required to scripts, but anybody who has experienced the crash may want to recompile their agents to be on the safe side. Both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions are affected.
